Recently I listened to George Little speak about why he wants to be the next governor of the state of North Carolina. As a registered Democrat for over 30 years, I had little hope of being impressed by a Republican. What I heard was neither Republican nor Democrat. As a matter of fact, for a moment there, I forgot I was listening to a politician. Following the speech, I immediately went home and sent in my change of voter registration. No, I am still not a registered Republican, but I am registered as unaffiliated so that I have a choice when I go to the polls. I urge every citizen to listen to what George has to say, regardless of your political affiliation. You see, a vote for George Little is not a vote for a Republican. It is a vote for the state of North Carolina and those of us who call it home. I urge you to vote for North Carolina in the July 20 primary. And I urge you to vote again for North Carolina in November. Emily Matthews Southern Pines
