Greetings!

Marriage Amendment Education:

Several folks have asked for more information to defend God's Plan for Marriages and Families, but have been undermined by non-Christians  and confusing cultural arguments.

We encourage you to examine the issues and the evidence for yourself. We have included several links for you to educate yourself on these important issues of our time. Check it yourself...don't even take my word for it!

The vote FOR the amendment preserves North Carolina's historic and traditional definition of marriage as the union of one man and one woman.

This is the same definition adopted by voters in EVERY STATE  to consider the question (30 of 30 states have voted to amend their state constitutions to define marriage in this way).

It has even been adopted by a bi-partisan majority in Congress and signed into law by President Clinton, as well as  adopted by virtually every society in every nation to ever live, from the ancients to current times.

Remember that a "NO" or "ABSTAIN" vote is a vote against the amendment for Marriage.

Voting our values,

Education Pastor Randall Floyd

Myths about the Marriage Amendment
The issues and arguments presented by those who oppose the Marriage Amendment are most likely based on emotional and personal reactions rather than facts.

Examine the evidence in a logical manner by reading the myths and factual responses to the opposing persons.
Myth: The amendment isn't necessary.
Response:  Unless North Carolina passes the Marriage Protection Amendment, our present marriage laws are vulnerable.

Politicians and activist judges could overturn  our current laws and impose same-sex marriage here. (This is what occurred in New York, New Hampshire, California, Massachusetts, Iowa, District of Columbia, Vermont and Connecticut).
Already, lawsuits have been filed in North Carolina to invalidate our marriage laws! We need the Amendment to ensure that lawsuits like this are not successful.

Furthermore, God's Word is the standard which should guide our decisions and our lives. Why?

1. God created us in His image with our minds & bodies as two complimentary genders:
So God created man in His own image;  He created him in the image of God;
He created them male and female.  Genesis 1:27)

2. God invented marriage as a union of one man and one woman:
This is why a man leaves his father and mother and bonds with his wife, and they become one flesh. (Genesis 2;25)

3. God also  designed the family and instructed us to bear children and have babies in hetero-sexual relationships as we live our lives in the world.
God blessed them, and God said to them, "Be fruitful, multiply, fill the earth, and subdue it. Rule the fish of the sea, the birds of the sky, and every creature that crawls on the earth. (Genesis 1:28)

We live in a democratic nation which allows us a free voice in how we live our lives. However, sometimes there are many voices with varied opinions, values, and beliefs.

The problem with "majority rules" arises with the question of who is in the majority. If an ungodly culture is in the majority, followers of Christ should strive to adhere to God's standards. Paul warns us about this in II Timothy 4:3-4
For the time will come when they will not tolerate sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, will multiply teachers for themselves because they have an itch to hear something new. They will turn away from hearing the truth and will turn aside to myths.

Since God is Sovereign, above and outside of worldly ideas, cultural "norms," and man-made laws, followers of Christ  should strive to protect His standards in our lives (and with our votes).

God's Word says...
You shall walk after the Lord your God and fear Him, and keep His commandments and obey His voice, and you shall serve Him and hold fast to Him. Deuteronomy 13:4 (NKJV)
